Concept

Hosted by Hyde 47, a jewelry company known for its interchangeable leather cuffs, their greatest asset was also a challenge to explain to people without the use of a salesperson. The challenge was to create a modular display that both educated and represented the bracelet without the need for a salesperson.

Approach

Collaborated with a group of three others and brainstormed ideas for the first few minutes of the challenge. Spearheaded brainstorm sessions and made sure everyone had a part in the design.

Sketches

For my initial sketch, I designed an interchangeable display for retailers. The main display will have an empty space for "inserts." These inserts can include a tiered stand for leather bands or holders for rings, earrings, and bracelets.

All four of us agreed on an iteration combining circular extruded stands (Maddison, not pictured), an oval jewelry stand, a Branding screen printed on acrylic, and the main display with customizable inserts.

3D Iterations

Developed 3D models with the help of teammates to create a clean, easy-to-understand visual for the final presentation. Suggested we also make close-up physical sketches to explain hard-to-see mechanics or display options.

Our Brief

Our inspiration for the project was Hyde 47's interchangeable jewelry concept. We thought, why not extend this idea to the displays? The unique selling point of our design is the interchangeable feature, which offers a novel way of showcasing the bracelets. By placing them on an extruded circle, we not only prevent them from falling but also allow people to see the mechanism of the interchangeable feature. Retailers can purchase a main display and then add two or more "inserts" to create a unique and versatile display.
